The Compendium: Persona

This was a self-initiated brief to create a replica of the book that the characters Elizabeth and Theodore carry in the Atlas video game Persona 3, to go with my brother and my costume.

The book is made of nearly a full ream of paper, and the first 217 pages contain the canonical information the book would contain in the game itself. The rest of the book is cut out, so that it may be used to store things. I had to retrace and recolour 27 of the images myself, as no high resolution versions were available of them.

Perfect bound by hand, the book is covered in upholstery leather and tooled by a hot foiling pen. The letters on the front read “Le Grimoire de Coeur” - French for “The book of the heart”. The hinges on the front are made of craft foam and paper fasteners, whilst the broach on the spine is made of 'Super Clay' (which seems to be foam clay or something, judging by what it feels like).

All up, the book took approximately 80 hours to create including content compilation, and I was then commissioned to create a further five copies by interested parties.

The Compendium, and the images used in The Compendium are © Atlas, and no copyright infringement was intended with this recreation. I charge only for the materials used and the time spent binding the book together in my commissions.

Commissions update 28/11/12: Having discovered that I am unable to recover my back up after reformatting my hard drive, I have lost the file to print from and therefore can no longer take commissions for these. My apologies for any disappointment.
