Rosa, from Final Fantasy IV

A nice clear shot of the front on details of my Rosa costume. This was made back in 2009, and together with *Aurellion's Rydia and *authenticsowilo's Edge, won Best Group and Best Skit at the Auckland Armageddon Cosplay Competition that year.

The pauldrons (shoulder armour) are created from a carboard base covered in Paperclay, and the two back capes are both screenprinted - the top cape being satin, and the bottom being crystal organza. The leotard is made of pleated silk, hand-embossed stretch velvet and nylon lycra. The belt was created out of suede with a modified buckle, and the sword was modified with paper clay and modelling compound from a pre-bought wooden sword. The side capes are made of lycra, two different types of brocade, satin bias tape and beaded trim. The knee guards are constructed from booklet cover plastic and EVA Foam, whilst the boots were modified from a pre-bought pair with faux suede and EVA foam.
